Update from Bloomington MoveOn rally at Baron's office

Here is an update, from Spencer Leiter of the Bloomington TEA Party Patriots, about the MoveOn rally at Baron Hill's Bloomington office last week. As I reported in an earlier post, the TEA Party Patriots were organizing a counter rally.

"As I understand it, the turnout was very poor turn out from both sides. I couldn't go due to work. Apparently many others had the same problem.

A total of 12-20 people showed up. I got different reports from different people, but that was the range that was reported. What happened was actually pretty interesting. People from our side didn't recognize each other and just stood around. The whole group was invited in to Hill's office and people started giving their opinion about healthcare etc. Apparently, some people from our group spoke up and said we need things like the ability to shop across state lines for insurance, tort reform, etc. As far as Hill's aid was concerned the whole group was from MoveOn. So, we effectively made it appear that even some of the MoveOn folks stood for some of these sensible ideas that are being ignored. We didn't plan to pose as MoveOn people, but we did, and I think it turned out even better than if we would have had our own counter protest."
